How To Export Footage From a Gamut DVR/NVR Directly Through a TVUpdated 4 months ago
Purpose of The Guide
This guide will show you how to access some of the settings and how to download footage directly from the recorder, using a mouse and TV, and Monitor.
Before You Begin
Your Gamut device will need to be turned on and connected to your internet router. You will need to use a TV to set up the recorder for the first time and follow the quick start guide to do so. After the initial setup, a TV or monitor is not necessary when accessing the recorder via a network connection.
If you are using a recorder and cameras, make sure that the cameras are connected and working.
If you are using a Wi-Fi bridge system with your camera, make sure that the bridges are turned on, wired correctly, and communicating before you begin.
How to Backup Video Footage From DVR/NVR
To start with you will want to find the footage in question, to do this move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and find the playback button, which looks like the below red marked button.
Once the playback window loads up you will want to select the camera that you wish to access the footage from on the left hand side, you will also then want to select the date which is normally found at the top left of the screen.
Once you have found the camera and date you can start the playback and then either set the time if you know exactly what time to look for or drag the bar beneath the footage to jump to different time sections.
When you have found the clip you are after you will want to start playback a few seconds before the clip and then on the bar just below the footage you will see a pair of scissors icon, if you click this it will start to record the clip, this icon will then change to a save icon.
Once you have finished with what you want to clip if you click the save icon it will ask what type of file to export as, we recommend avi or mp4 as these offer the most compatible forms for playing back on other devices, click on the save button and it will ask where you wish to save to.
You will then want to fit a usb memory stick into one of the spare usb ports and click the refresh icon in the top left of the new window, you can then select your usb memory stick and save the footage on to this.
